Spitler of 1003 Grove Avenue, Lufkin, Texas was recently advanced to the rank of Captain while attending the United States Naval War College, Newport, Rhode Island. Captain Spitler is pictured in the rare books section of the Mahan Library at the War College. Established in 1884, the War College is the oldest graduate military college in the United States. It is presently under the command of Vice Admiral Stuart H. Ingersoll, United States Navy."
