Det ALFAS's all-weather aircraft, utilizing airborne radar to perform the tasks required of them by other combat ready fleet units, are presently assigned: to the aircraft carrier USS Midway. CDR G. M. Donovan, USN, of the detachment ALFA carrier air group two, aboard the USS Midway, is the command to which Det. ALFA is attached.
