Summary
Letter written by James R. Soley upon his return to the Office of Library and War Records, Navy Department, Washington, D.C. from the Naval War College. In this letter, Soley congratulates Luce on the successful conclusion of the first year’s course and that people at the Navy Department are “beginning to realize the importance and character of the work.”
Soley notes that he enclosed a memorandum listing the fourteen lectures he delivered at the College, but this enclosure is not included with this letter.
Stapled to this letter is a note, “’Fatigues’ indeed! There were 6 students that year!” as well as another notation about the number of students.
