The bulk of the collection consists Of photographs and prints of U.S. Navy ships and submarines that he illustrated over The years, including ship's histories for some prints. There is personal and biographical information as well as correspondence treating his civilian career with the U.S. Navy.

Biographical Note
Isaac Ralph Lloyd was born in 1891. He served in the U.S. Navy in 1914-1915 and during World War I, 1917-1918. Studied drafting at the School oflndustrial Arts in Philadelphia, PA, worked for the Navy as a draftsman,and as an industrial engineer, 1928-1944 and as a construction engineer, 1944-1949. He was a freelance illustrator of navy ships and scenes.
