This collections consists of one photograph album presented to Admiral and Mrs. Joseph C. Strasser from residents of Fort Adams in Newport, RI. Fort Adams' residents compiled this album as a token of appreciation to the Strassers for their support in saving military and Naval War College housing on Fort Adams for future generations to enjoy. Photographs depict life on Fort Adams and describe the benefits of living there for naval families as well as letters of support for Fort Adams and a petition to halt the sale of the Fort Adams housing.

Biographical Note

RADM Joseph C. Strasser (1940-2019) served as the 46th president of the Naval War College, a position he held for five years, 1990-1995. He later served as the Executive Director of the Naval War College Foundation, 2000-2006.
