Fleet Admiral Chester Nimitz speaks about the value of the training he recieved at the War College in preparation for WWII. He also addresses the importance of personnel planning, logisitics, and morale during wartime.

Nimitz speaks for about 20 minutes. He then fields questions and answers for approximately 40 minutes, which covers many topics including competitions between battelships, taking direction from Washington, and the usefulness of war gaming.

Some technical difficulties occur in the recording; they are momentary.

Hon. James Locher III, Assistant Secretary of Defense for Special Operations delivers a lecture to students regarding the impact of the Goldwater-Nichols Act of 1986. Questions from the audience are addressed by the speaker at the end of his prepared lecture.
