Transcript of a lecture delivered by Professor Henri H. Marion, US Naval Academy at the Naval War College. The lecture discusses historical uses of pigeons as "war messengers," primarly to transmit intelligence between ship and shore, including a successful pigeon communication programs in France, Belgium, and Portugal. Also includes letters from Omoa, Honduras to Ludyah Robinson, esq. from May 27, 1832-May 30, 1832, a letter to Mrs. Hosmer from Stanford Robinson, June 3, 1832, and a letter from James Price to Ludyah Robinson, May 30, 1832 from Belize.
