Richard W. Bates papers
The personal papers of Rear Admiral Richard W. Bates (1892-1973) cover the years 1915-1973. He was a commanding officer on many ships in the Navy. His collection consists of correspondence, subject files, writings, speeches, and miscellaneous items. The papers are arranged in four series based on an established file system. They mainly encompass Bates career as a Naval Officer, family, and social life in Newport, as well as other aspects of his career including published and unpublished writings, notes, photographs, slide presentations, and reports.
Richard G. Colbert papers
The Colbert papers are comprised of Correspondence, Subject Files, Speeches, Miscellany, Classified Official Correspondence, and Classified Subject Files related to the military career of Richard G. Colbert. A majority of the collection were from Personal correspondence dated 1954-1973. These materials reflect his career in the United States Navy and his personal life surrounding his career. Restricted and classified items are included and access is permitted only to those with appropriate clearances.

International Seapower Symposium records
The International Seapower Symposium (ISS) is a biennial meeting held at the U.S. Naval War College (NWC), hosted by the Chief of Naval Operations and the President, U.S. Naval War College. This record group consists of correspondence, reports, publications, photographs, audio cassettes, digital media (floppy disks and compact discs, etc), and digital files documenting the organization and proceedings of each symposium.
