Rough drafts of letters written by Stephen B. Luce. The first is to William E. Chandler, Secretary of the Navy with Luce requesting that Lieutenant L. C. Logan be detailed for duty at the Naval War College as superintendent of buildings and grounds. The draft on the reverse side is addressed to “Sir” asking about the use of a steam barge so that he can be conveyed to and from Coaster’s Harbor Island.
