Captain Maria Carroll, USN (Ret.) joined the Navy Nurse Corps in 1963 and remained on active duty until 1991. She served in USS Mercy during the Gulf War in 1991. She was Director of Nursing Services in Newport, RI, Long Beach, CA, Oakland, CA and aboard USS Mercy.
