Black and white 4x5 photograph of a communal room at the Newport Naval Hospital. Twp sailors are playing ping pong in the foreground, another gropup of sailors are playing pool in the background. Three large curtained windows are featured in the room as well as couches and chairs for comforable seating.

Written in ink on the back of photo is, "Dec. 15-43--1694:13".

A pile of debris and building materials are in the center of the phto. The lower level windows of the atrium are not yet installed. The back of the photo is stamped, "This is an official photograph. Property of the Navy Dep." In pen is written "N.E. 40-29".
