Notebook belonging to Newton A. McCully containing lectures from his time as an NWC student and recordings of testing at the Naval Ordnance Proving Ground at Indian Head, Maryland.

Pages 1-33 consist of McCully’s notes from NWC lectures, 1892 Sep-Oct, includes those by A.T. Mahan and C.H. Stockton and cover a wide range of topics such as naval strategy, tactics, gunnery, naval history, electricity, steam power, and hygiene.

Pages 34 to the end of the volume are "memorandum of work done at the Naval Ordnance Proving Ground at Indian Head Md, beginning Nov 1 1892-Sep 21, 1893.
