Correspondence, letters sent to his father George Seacote, describing his life aboard ship, scrubbing decks, a fight aboard the vessel, Thanksgiving dinner, his illness, collecting the bounty due him, surety money before going ashore, a democratic meeting in New York City, and requests for stamps and money to buy a book entitled The Kedge Anchor, 1864-1865.
