Dear Hambleton

I have rec'd your [untranscribed] from George Town and shall in every particular, comply with your wishes. I shall get about resuming my notes with the endorsement of Tom Rodgers as they come due. The tour has kindly afforded to accomodate me in that respect--permit me now to thank you for the many favors I have experienced from your hands and to offer an appology (sic) for the trouble as well as vexations which you have I am quite aware on many occasions experienced from my apparent neglects. But you know that my time is taken up at this office and when I get engaged there I am too apt to neglect other things of a private nature.

I send you an almanac which came to hand a short time ago two letters from your Brother came with it which I shall send him. I shall also send your papers and drop you a line occasionally. You must let us hear from you as often as you can.

I am comforted to have [untranscribed] With esteem your friend
